Everyday Heroes

community hero

Whether it’s the local chef who donates his time to a food bank or the community activist who makes sure every resident has access to quality healthcare, there are people in each of our neighborhoods doing remarkable work to enrich their communities. They are our community heroes. Their dedication, altruism and enthusiasm are a source of strength in times of need, while also inspiring others to act. They are the heartbeat of a community that thrives on connection, resilience and the shared joy of giving back.

Some heroes use education to empower kids from disadvantaged backgrounds, while other leaders make sure everyone goes home with nutritious food every night. There are also local heroes who lead environmental efforts, organize clean-up events and create green community spaces that preserve the environment for generations to come. Still others strive to ensure women and girls are empowered and able to achieve their goals.

Do you know a local hero who deserves to be recognized? We invite you to nominate them today. Each week on The Good News with Curtis McCloud, we feature an everyday hero.
